Taking his early rock influences and melding them with acoustic based music, Matt Feddermann has created a sound that is reminiscent of early Tom Petty, The Beatles, Rhett Miller & Dawes. His music is melodic & his sound is accessible. Over the years, Feddermann has performed at venues like House Of Blues, Metro, Double Door and at festivals such as Taste Of Chicago, Rock Around The Block, Sheffield Garden Walk and many more. During that time, he was seen on WGN TV, NBC Chicago, the Rosie O'Donnell Show and heard on WXRT, WYKT, WRLR & WLUW locally. Most recently, Matt Feddermann was featured in a HGTV television special called "Pumpkin Wars" with Property Brother Jonathan Scott. The show was filmed during the Great Highwood Pumpkin Festival in which Feddermann was the headline act. In 2015, Matt Feddermann signed a deal with Heavy Hitters Music, writing songs and instrumental tracks for tv & film.
Matt Feddermann 's new ep, “Life In Whiskey Junction" released in July 2016, is a music journey that blends elements of rock & synth/pop with his Americana based singer/songwriter style. The rhythm tracks for the album were recorded "live in the studio" with bassist Gordon Patriarca, drummer Alex Zeravica & Feddermann all playing together. The songs also feature overdub contributions from guitarist Danny Shaffer on "So Real," guitarist Justin Ostrander (Chris Janson & Freddy Jones Band) & drummer John O' Reilly Jr (Jason Mraz & fun.) on "What Are You Waiting For?", & pedal steel player Patrick Brenner (The Westerlees) on "Unteachable Things."
Veering away from over polished production and auto-tuned singing, Feddermann is trying to reacquaint listeners with songs with lyrical substance. His music and performances are inspiring new music lovers, one ear at a time.
